Potential of Waste Cooking Oil Biodiesel as Renewable Fuel in Combustion Engines: A Review

As non-renewable conventional fossil fuel sources are depleting day by day, researchers continually finding new ways of producing and utilizing alternative, renewable, reliable fuels. Due to technologies, the environment has been degraded seriously, which profoundly impacts life on earth. To reduce emissions caused running compression ignition engines, waste cooking oil (WCO) biodiesel is one best alternative fuels locally available in all parts world. Different study results reviewed with a clear focus combustion, performance, emission characteristics, impact engine durability. Moreover, environmental economic also this study. When determining combustion characteristics WCO biodiesel, cylinder peak pressure value increases heat release rate delay period decreases. In performance brake-specific consumption while energy consumption, brake power, torque decrease. cuts down 85% due decreased hydrocarbon, SO2, CO, smoke exhaust that will effectively save environment. However, CO2 NOx generally increase when compared diesel. The overall production utilization resource elaborated. show use technically, economically, environmentally, tribologically appropriate for any diesel engine.
